Travel Vaccines

There’s no point spending hours choosing your swimwear, beach bag and flip-flops if you barely think about the bugs and other health risks that could ruin your holiday.

Almost one in four UK holidaymakers don't get any vaccinations despite travelling to areas that have life-threatening infectious disease.

Find out which travel jabs you need for your destination.

It’s not worth skipping travel vaccinations. Infectious diseases can make you very sick, spoil your holiday and even kill or cripple you.

Vaccinations protect you against many travel-related infections, such as yellow fever, typhoid and hepatitis A. Use the information on these pages to learn about travel vaccines, which ones you need for your destination, and when and where to get them.

Yellow Fever

We are a designated Yellow Fever Centre serving the whole of the island.  Please contact reception for more information or complete the Yellow Fever Registration Form (for patients who are not registered at our practice) & the Travel Form (both on Our Documents Page).

What’s available on the NHS?

Travel vaccinations are not available on the NHS in the Isle of Man.   From December 2010 the DHSS withdrew funding for patients who require travel vaccinations.

We will ask you to complete a travel vaccination questionnaire (available to download on Our Documents Page) and if you do not require vaccination no charge will be made.

Where travel vaccination is required our charges are in line with other GP surgeries and are per person as follows:

Nurse consultation & prescription (2 items or less)    £30.00

Nurse consultation & prescription (3 items or more)  £40.00

All fees are payable at the time you book your appointment and may be paid in cash or by cheque.

Please also note all vaccination prescriptions will be PRIVATE for which a seperate fee will be payable at the pharmacy.

Yellow Fever vaccinations are not included in the above. Fee as follows:

Nurse consultation & vaccination £80.00 per person (no prescription required)
